Crossfit...I might just be crazy!

So about two months ago two things happened to begin my journey....
1.  I finally got tired of listening to Jason blab about CrossFit everyday and 2. I decided that I was a little grossed out with myself and couldn't really call my fat residual baby weight since Avery was aaaaabout 10 months old :/   Not gonna lie I weighed the most I've ever weighed (not including pregnancy!) and was not excited about it. To be honest I don't know how I let my body get that out of shape...but it happened.

So, around the middle of January I decided to take up CrossFit. I started going in the mornings to an elements class to learn the basic lifts.
FYI, CrossFit: CrossFit itself is defined as that which optimizes fitness (constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity). CrossFit is also the community that spontaneously arises when people do these workouts together. In fact, the communal aspect of CrossFit is a key component of why it’s so effective. -From the crossfit main website.

Anyways....Did the elements classes, could barely move for the next week, kept going back for more...and now I am hooked. Before beginning CrossFit I was annoyed with Jason talking about it. I mean who even knows what words like wod, amrap, or rx mean? I didn't that's for sure. But now I do! Not gonna lie I am always a little terrified before I go, but every time I leave I am so happy I went. I am getting stronger and can see a big difference in my body in just 2 months. Plus I have finally been able to get back into running, which is something I have always enjoyed, but haven't been putting the necessary work into it.

So, basically my point of this post is to say, I was tired of being fat. Now I am less fat. I did not enjoy being weak. Now I am stronger. Definitely still a work in progress, but I am on my way and feeling good about it!!!

PS: Who wouldn't want to look like this mom?! I will totally post a pic if I ever look even close to as good as this! Promise :)

Is it summer yet?

Man I sure dislike winter! There is nothing good about snow and ice and cold...yuck. Plus then my options are run in the cold or run on a treadmill. Both options are crappy.

Anyways...we have had a busy few months since I last updated! I probably say that on every post I write. The thing is, it is true! I think I last wrote in November...so since then....

The girls and our tree!

In December I had surgery on my leg, which turned into a huge debacle with the insurance company, one that we are still dealing with. Such a pain. So I had surgery, and the next day we went to spend Christmas with my family, which is always so much fun! Rheagan is finally old enough to be pretty excited about the whole thing, while Avery mostly just enjoyed playing with wrapping paper :) Avery did not enjoy meeting Santa....

Our trip went by so fast, and before I knew it we were back home and back to our regular schedule. In the middle of January I got to fly to Denver to visit my bestie, Tierney. I had such a great time spending time with her and her fam, as well as doing my share of shopping, that I am half convinced that I wouldn't mind living in Denver! Sadly, we managed to take no pics while I was there, so I don't have any actual proof that I went. Jason was a trooper and took care of the girls solo for 4 days while I was gone, best hubby ever! I came home to two sick girls- ear infections and bronchitis! Yuck. So that meant more time off work for me to snuggle them until they were healthy enough for daycare again.

In February we travelled to Billings once again, so that we could watch Luke wrestle in the state tournament!! It was a long weekend, but we got to watch him continue his undefeated season and win the state championship. So proud of him and great to see all of his hard work pay off! We also got to spend some time with both of my grandmas; they came to watch Luke as well. I love that my girls get to know and spend time with my grandmas. They are such special women and I am so happy that they are the kind of grandmas who travel half way across the country to spend a weekend sitting in uncomfortable seats and watching their grandkids wrestle!

This is from a different meet, but here is Luke!!

PS Avery is 10 months old now- crazy!!!
